Usable Bittorrent client? | Nicole Simon's Useful Sounds

Usable Bittorrent client?

04.11.2004 - 01:16 / filled under default

As you might have noticed, I am totally not satisfied with the way the current ipodderclients work. But you can't use anything else because you then would loose the advantages of rss.

But it seems as if Azureus has a built in or optional rss-part. Will give it a try and report back! :o)

  1. We need to encourage more people to get involved in developing solutions. There are several solutions emerging - but the more there are - the potential becomes much better through competition and collaboration.

  2. Yes :o) I just had a short look at Azureus and its RSS Feed plugin, but looks promising. Which does not mean it might not be better.

  3. Andrew Grummett looked at the idea of using rss to send the small torrent files as rss enclosures. Here's the post: http://grumet.net/weblog/archives/2003/1..
This seems like a pretty logical approach to me, but software and tracker infrastructure and integration will have to be developed first.

  4. It seems to me as if this is what this combination does - I have just looked very very short (more time at the weekend) and at least it did fetch the Evil Chronicals Bittorrent Feed.

But I will have to look into it why it did not start downloading the files.

I asume a 'stupid' bittorrent programm will take such feeds and only use the .torrent in it - seems perfect for me.
