Being paid for working on the society of the future

Paul and Darren made a post about Jason's Dinner offer (give me advice to make more money and I will throw you a dinner). Both worth reading, of course.
I don't know Jason Calacanis very well, but of course, if you are a bit interested into the blogosphere like me, you 'know' who he is.
But one thing I know about all three of them (and as I repeated this point at Paul's and Darren's blog, I decided to put it here also):
They share their passion, share information and help and many others learn on the way.
To persue your passion is a great thing, and I do believe that we as a society can really progress with this atitude, and it is one of the reasons why I am so exited about connecting with people over the internet.
If there was not one problem: It does not pay the bills. Or perhaps it does?
Take a look what people are doing at the moment: They are creating content like crazy, and it has to be good content. They try to build search engine momentum, and therefor do optimize their pages. I've said it before: Google Adsense has done more for correct HTML-Pages than any other project.
Or they put their heart into a subject because they have learned: Somebody = search enginges will take notice.
And drive traffic here. And will earn money. Because of Adsense and all the other programms out there. And this will not go away any time soon.
And on it's way, I am sure, we as a world / society will make progress on the way. Isn't that a a great world to live in? ;)
